Okay so we are suppose to blog every week about something we either read or discussed in class. I want to blog about how awesome thursdays class was since we had the privilege of hearing a woman who survived Hitler. She was just an incredible woman!!! I enjoyed hearing her stories, especially the one about her saying she remembered what her mother had taught her when she was little when men got to fresh and she only had to bring her knee up and kick once in her whole life!!! haha... She is a sweet woman who has been through many trials. We can learn much from her, but we must seize that time while we still have her. I just wanted to say I thought it was awesome getting to hear from her and what she has lived through!

Grading is based on one original post and one response. These two posts add up to ten points per week. The criteria are as follows: Completion; please refrain from poor grammar, poor spelling, and internet shorthand. Reference; mention the text or post to which the reply is directed. Personality; show thoughtfulness, care, and a sense of originality. Cohesiveness; The student should explain his or her thought without adding "fluff" merely to meet the requirement.
I also really enjoyed the speaker, we should write some kind of thank you note or something. I thought a lot about what we learned this semester. It hasn't been easy, it hasn't lined up or fit into nice neat boxes, but thats life, isn't it? Sometimes terrible things happen to people and you can't respond with a quick cliche Bible verse or something. Sometimes you just look into someone's eyes and think, "wow, i have no idea what to say" and thats okay.
ReplyDelete(This might be because I am listening to an emotional song called "if my heart should somehow stop" and I feel sentimental (: hah
and my feelings are rare haha
DeleteYeah, we do not always have the right words to say. Sometimes it is just being there for someone. We (I... ehehe... cough) have to be okay with that and know we were not always meant to have all the right words.
DeleteHaha, I love it!!!
Life is definitely full of surprises. Some of them are good while others are, unfortunately, terrifying. I cannot begin to imagine how much emotional and physical pain that she went through. None of us can say that we went through anything similar to that. Some people who claim to know suffering or think they have it so bad honestly have no idea. I agree with Rachel. Sometimes there really is just nothing that you can say.
ReplyDeleteI really enjoyed her as well. I absolutely hated that I had to leave before she finished. It was truly inspiring. It is so easy to take the life we've been given for granted, but when we hear things like that, its a great reminder of how blessed we truly are. Kelsey, I agree. None of us can say that we have suffered like that. We will probably never understand.
